Worm Baits

Ragworm

Ragworm is one of the most versatile sea baits you can use, and we keep a regular supply coming in throughout the season. They work brilliantly for bass, flounder, mullet and a whole range of other species, whether you’re fishing from the shore or a harbour wall. We stock a range of sizes, so whether you want small harbour rag for bream and flatties or big juicy rag for bass, we’ve usually got you covered. As with all live bait, stock levels can vary, so it’s always worth giving us a ring on 01202 668244 before making a special trip.

Lugworm

Lugworm is the go-to bait for so many South Coast anglers, and for good reason — there’s very little in the sea that won’t have a go at a fresh lug. Cod, whiting, dabs, bass and pouting all fall for it, and it’s hard to beat on a long-distance beach cast. We stock fresh lugworm regularly and can advise on the best way to present it depending on what you’re fishing for. Again, availability can vary with the tides and the season, so a quick call ahead is never a bad idea.

Frozen Baits

We’ve got several freezers stocked with a good range of frozen sea baits, giving you a reliable option when fresh bait isn’t available or when you want to plan ahead. Our frozen range typically includes squid, mackerel, sandeel, black lug, peeler crab and more. Frozen baits are a solid choice for many species and can be just as effective as fresh in the right conditions. Pop in and have a look at what we’ve got — we’re always happy to point you in the right direction based on what’s been catching locally.

Carp Baits

We stock a solid range of carp baits to keep you going through the season, sourced from some of the best names in the game including Sticky Baits, Korda, Dynamite Baits and more. Whether you’re after boilies, pellets, pop-ups, method mix or hook baits, we carry a good selection across different flavours and sizes. The team fish carp themselves, so if you’re not sure what’s working on local waters at the moment, just ask — we’re always happy to share what we know.

Maggots

We stock fresh maggots for coarse fishing, available in the shop throughout the week. Maggots remain one of the most reliable baits going for a huge range of species — roach, perch, bream, chub and plenty more. We’d recommend calling ahead on 01202 668244 to check availability and quantities, especially if you need a larger amount for a match or a longer session.
